Papa Legba is one of the most important Lwa of the Vodou traditions.   He is one of the first to be served in any ceremony,  for he opens the way for the other Mysteries.   He is extremely Mystical,  wise,  and helpful to those who seek his aid.  Legba has many sides, faces, and paths.

 But he is a big trickster and a mischief maker, so he needs to be approached with care, intelligence and caution.   He teaches through his tricks and facilitates justice,  balance and power through these means.  However when you know how to deal with him you can learn your lessons and still be blessed.
